Doug, born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, received his B.A. in 1980 and his LL.B. in 1983 from the University of Alberta.
Within the community, Doug is a former President of the Paper Chase Recycling Project and is currently Chair on the Board of Directors for the WeCan Cooperative for Community and Economic Development. In his free time, Doug can be found tending to his garden or playing golf on one of the City's many courses.
