Jack, who was born in Calgary but raised in Edmonton, Alberta, received his B.A. in 1968 and his LL.B. in 1972 from the University of Alberta. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association. Jack has been highly active in the community through such roles as Director, Access Network; Executive, Friars Club of Edmonton; Chancellor and Governor, Newman Theological College; Director, Derrick Golf and Winter Club; Organizing Committees - 1978 Commonwealth Games, 1983 World University Games, 1984 Alberta Papal Visit; and President, Forest Industry Suppliers Association of Alberta. When Jack is not working or volunteering his time, you can find him teeing it up on the golf course or cheering on his favourite sports teams. Jack and his wife Marilyn have one daughter, Shauna.
