Gordon,
who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, received his B.A.
in 1972 and his LL.B. in 1976 from the University of Alberta. He
has been a sessional lecturer at the University of Alberta's Faculty
of Law on Creditors Rights and on Secured Transactions. He has also
taught bar admission courses in civil procedure, bankruptcy and
insolvency, secured transactions, and chambers advocacy.
Gordon's
involvement in the community is extensive. He has been a community
league sports coach, a ski instructor for the Canadian Association
of Disabled Skiers, a member of the Legislative Liaison Committee
for the Alberta Law Society, Mayor of the Summer Village of Itaska
Beach, and involved in several charitable organizations. When he
gets the opportunity, Gordon loves to travel and this passion has
seen him visit many parts of North America, South America, South-East
Asia and Europe. Gordon enjoys cycling, sailing, skiing, golfing
or just reading a good book.
