Born and raised in Calgary, Francis received a B.A in 1987, a B. Ed (with distinction) in 1990 and an LL. B in 1996, all from the University of Calgary. He also holds Associate Diplomas in Speech from the University of Toronto and Mount Royal College. A registered Trusts and Estates Practitioner, Francis is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners, the Canadian Tax Foundation, and the Tax Law and Wills & Trusts Subsections of the Canadian Bar Association.
Francis is currently the solicitor for a number of religious and para-church organizations. He also acts for a variety of individuals and corporations with respect to commercial acquisitions and sales. Past acquisitions have included both commercial and residential complexes.
In the past, Francis has served on the Commissions for Adjudication of Lutheran Church-Canada and continues to serve as a mediator/reconciler for the Alberta-British Columbia District of Lutheran Church-Canada. He has also chaired a not-for-profit Seniors Housing Project. In his spare time, Francis enjoys fishing, golfing, hiking, camping, biking and directing.
