Born and raised in Edmonton, Scott has substantial ties to the local community. He received his LL.B from the University of Alberta in 2002 and immediately began articling with Bishop & McKenzie. He was called to the Alberta bar in 2003 and currently practices in the firm’s Corporate/Commercial practice group.
The majority of Scott’s practice combines real estate with corporate finance & restructuring and commercial lending. He currently acts for commercial lenders, landlords, condominium boards, corporate and individual borrowers, developers, home owner’s associations, residential purchasers and vendors, private lenders and small to medium sized local businesses. Scott’s primary legal interests lie in the field of Condominium/Strata Title law and Development/Subdivision matters, however he maintains an active corporate client base which calls on him for advice on a variety of general matters. He has acted on a number of business acquisitions and divestitures, development projects, condominium conversions, lease negotiations, intellectual property licensing matters and commercial loans.
Scott has a love for technology and as such also has great interest in the developing field of law relating to the internet and other computer or software related issues. He is an avid swimmer and in his free time he also enjoys skiing, golfing, cycling, wakeboarding and hiking.
